Note From Our Director

Dear City Kids Family & Friends,

Welcome to City Kids Wilderness Project! I am the new Director and I am so thrilled to be here. Having grown up in Washington, D.C. and having attended public schools, I am deeply committed to creating positive opportunities for our city’s youth. I am passionate about working with DC youth, love spending time outdoors and am excited to be working with an organization so committed to providing youth with rewarding challenges, life changing experiences and opportunities for a rewarding future.

Founded in 1996, City Kids has seen significant growth, both in numbers of youth served and the overall size and scope of our programming, as we currently serve 90 youth between the ages of 11 and 21.  The organization has seen a critical growth in new donors and we are fortunate to have a strong and supportive Board of Directors. We have ambitious goals and we couldn’t do any of it without the incredible support from our donors.

This is an exciting time at City Kids Wilderness Project as we are poised to significantly increase the level of support that we are able to offer our youth. Not only do we provide our high-quality summer camp for middle school and high school-aged youth, we also offer a job training program, educational support, internship opportunities and alumni support for our older youth.  We also provide weekend programming and outdoor adventure trips throughout the school year and are launching a new afterschool program for middle school youth.

City Kids wholeheartedly believe in the futures of each of our youth and we invite you to join in supporting and encouraging their success.  For both individual and corporate donors, we welcome your support in sponsoring a camper for either the summer program at $2,500 per student or for the full school year at $5,000.We are really excited about the future of City Kids Wilderness Project and we welcome your involvement in this process. Please feel free to email or call me personally with your suggestions and feedback.

Thank you!

Warm regards,

Eloise Russo
